“In Between” is a theater and dance collaboration between Mette Loulou von Kohl and Beck Heiberg. It is composed of two separate pieces which both explore questions of identities.
The first half is created by Mette Loulou. This piece examines the artist’s relationship to her Arab identity and whiteness. The second half is choreographed by Beck. This piece shows the artist’s internal discussion of gender exploration.
The performance was created between April and August 2013. In the making Beck and Mette Loulou used each other’s artistic qualities and differences to help them think about their individual subjects.
